Just pick a theme you like, a sidebar image you want, and then go to this website and it’ll give you a color scheme that’s nearly perf every time. It’s like super easy and it’s totally how I do all my schemes

Princess Barn Owls repeat pattern I whipped up for my blog. Free to use but I’d appreciate credit!

axolotl pattern!!!!
feel free to use… but if you use it somewhere public it’d be nice if you credited me :’^

Theme Base 01: code

This is the base I put together for my own use in the future. I’m sticking it up here so that anyone else can use it, though. I’m not gonna put up any previews or anything like that, and chances are, I’ll probably also quietly update this link for a while as I notice mistakes and add a few more options to it.

As of right now, the code has:

  • The following customizable colors: text, link, link hover, background.
  • 400px/500px/600px post options (only choose one at a time).
  • Six custom links.

Feel free to do whatever you want with it. There’s enough styling that you could use it as is, or you can make your own theme with it, whatever. You don’t have to credit me if you use it, though it might be nice to link to my blog somewhere if you find it useful. That way others can use it.

Theme 03: static preview | code

  • 700px posts. Good for longer text posts and hi-res images; lower res images are stretched to fit.
  • Up to 7 sidebar links.
  • Portrait is 150px wide, and can be whatever height you want. The image you upload will resize to fit that width.
  • All colors can be customized, though some of them are used for multiple things. So while the default settings are that of a light theme, you could make it dark or add more color should you wish.

This is a simplistic theme that’s meant to be easy to read. Seeing as the sidebar is fixed, it can only be so long; if you choose a particularly long portrait image you might want to refrain from using all the links.

The portrait image comes from this stock image.

Page 01a: preview | code

  • An edit of Page 01 that allows for darker sub-headings in each group.
  • Meant for people with a lot of tags to link to.
  • As many groups as you want (just copy and paste), three columns in each group where you can put as many links as you want.
  • Design inspired by this page by Athemes.

Edit the page as much as you like, just make sure there’s still a visible link crediting me when you’re done! To use this you do have to have some knowledge of html. In the code I’ve inserted some lines denoting what section is what, and you can ask me questions if you need to, but probably you’re better off looking here for HTML knowledge.

Theme 02: static preview | code

  • 700px posts. Good for longer text posts and hi-res images; lower res images are stretched to fit.
  • Up to 5 sidebar links.
  • Background image stretches to fit screen.
  • Text, link, and background colors can be customized.

You can remove the credit in the sidebar (as I only put it there to show off all five links), and edit the theme as much as you like otherwise, just make sure there’s still a visible link crediting me when you’re done!

The design of this one was inspired by some of the themes over at Zen Themes. If you’re looking for grid themes, that’s the place to go.

Theme 01: static preview | code

  • 500px posts.
  • 250px sidebar image, will resize the image to fit.
  • Up to 5 sidebar links.
  • Preview is dark but all the colors can easily be changed to whatever suits.

Notes: Be careful not to let the links get too long, or it’ll look funny. You can remove the credit in the sidebar (as I only put it there to show off all five links), and edit the theme as much as you like otherwise, just make sure there’s still a visible link crediting me when you’re done!

This is where I post the themes and pages I make when I’m bored!

There’s really not much else to it. I don’t expect this blog to be particularly active; I’ve only made it because I figure if I put enough work into something for one of my blogs, I may as well release it for others to use.

Edit the codes as much as you want, but please leave my credit just as visible as you found it. You can move it around or whatever as long as it’s still there.
